Product Manager - PRO-FIT

You have the opportunity to serve as the strategic lead for National Nail’s PRO-FIT brand—guiding growth in packaged and collated fasteners across framing, roofing, siding, and finish applications.

Your assignment

This role is laser-focused on strengthening PRO-FIT’s presence in pneumatic fastening, particularly in the collated fastener category, where speed, tool compatibility, and supply chain execution are critical to success.

This individual builds and executes the product roadmap to expand PRO-FIT’s relevance with contractors, pro dealers, and retailers. The PRO-FIT product manager ensures that new product development, line extensions, and application specific enhancements are grounded in real-world contractor needs and system compatibility. Additionally, this role will collaborate with the product development organization to drive roadmap execution and support launch readiness.

Essential duties:

  • Own the roadmap and lifecycle strategy for PRO-FIT’s collated and packaged fasteners, with emphasis on growing pneumatic product offerings in framing, siding, and finish applications.
  • Identify and pursue new product opportunities by analyzing gaps in the current portfolio, evaluating unmet contractor needs, and studying competitor offerings to determine where PRO-FIT can expand or introduce new solutions.
  • Serve as the commercial and strategic leader for PRO-FIT within the pneumatic fastening segment, collaborating with field teams, dealers, and product developers.
  • Develop voice of customer insights through jobsite visits, pro dealer engagement, and retailer interaction to validate tool compatibility, installation needs, and packaging.
  • Collaborate with product development to define product specifications, support technical feasibility, and ensure readiness for pilot testing and launch.
  • Own pricing strategy, competitive benchmarking, and promotional planning across the portfolio.
  • Partner with marketing and sales to create impactful merchandising, training content, and sell-through tools for PRO-FIT’s pneumatic fastener systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills:

  • Strong understanding of pneumatic fastening systems, collated fasteners, and construction workflows across residential and light commercial applications.
  • Ability to lead product strategy and lifecycle management in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail, with comfort managing pricing, cost structures, margin targets, and SKU performance.
  • Skilled at building relationships with contractors, pro dealers, retail partners, and internal teams (engineering, sourcing, sales, marketing).
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal, with strong presentation and training support skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate field insights into actionable product development decisions.

Success criteria:

  • Growth in PRO-FIT’s pneumatic fastener segment, including new SKU adoption, increased shelf presence, and expanded contractor usage.
  • Timely and effective delivery of new products and line extensions in collaboration with product development and internal partners.
  • Increased market share in framing, siding, and finish categories, supported by clear value propositions and field alignment.
  • Portfolio performance aligned with brand goals—improved margins, competitive pricing, and channel differentiation.
  • Recognized internally as the brand and product authority for PRO-FIT’s collated fastener business, and externally as a knowledgeable, responsive partner to the field.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field; relevant field or product experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • 5+ years of product management experience in collated fasteners, pneumatic tools, or building materials. National brand experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of nail gun platforms, tool compatibility, and contractor buying behavior.
  • Experience working across multiple sales channels: retail, pro dealer, wholesale distribution.
  • Familiarity with VOC/VOM research methods and new product commercialization best practices.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM platforms, with experience using dashboarding and analytics tools such as Power BI or Salesforce to support decision-making and product performance tracking.
  • Effective at bridging the gap between technical data and business impact through clear written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% to support contractor engagement, attend industry/trade events, and develop strategic partnerships across regions.
